The owner was very nice and polite. It's an old Dutch house which made it charming to begin with.
The services are very basic. We had two thin towels with no facecoths or even a glass to have a glass of water at night. The walls and floors are paper thin so you wake up when anyone gets up. We didn't receive new towels the next day. I believe it would be accceptable at a lower price rate. I was also charged 4% extra because I used my credit card. We moved to a new location.

Tony. Very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The furnishings of the house make you feel very much at home instead of at a hotel.
When you sleep canal side, it will be noisy with the windows open. So you need to decide if you want the canal or an interior room. This has nothing to do with the hotel falling short--this is Amsterdam.

The location is very good (close to Dam square and central station). Free Wi-Fi. Our suite was very roomy.
The building is very old and wasn't renovated. The furniture is also old. The facilities are rather poor, e.g. no sink in the bathroom. The bathroom itself was in the hall. The stairs were very narrow, barely enough to pass with luggage.

Nice view.
Location close to a busy road; difficult to sleap. Very narrow stairs to the room. Sheets in the bed were horrible. Staff not very friendly and not available for check-out; had to call the manager 2 times in order to pay the bill.

The location and views were really good.
We stayed in the apartment/suite. The bathroom was across the hall so was not en-suite and was tiny, it also had no sink. The carpet in the entire suite couldn't be walked on with bare feet as it was severely painful. The kitchen was a portable hob and a microwave. There was a washing machine included on the website but was not in the b and b. The cleaner could do it for you but we ended up using a laundrette!

location is just ok, close to the railway station and canals. Breakfast is worth trying.
The hotel is too close to a noisy road with so many cars...Breakfast is 10euros/per so it's a little bit expensive. Smoking is strictly forbidden and also we can't talk and even walk normally after 10pm. we have to be extremely quiet...so it sucks for young people. it's more like an apartment and we only live in one of the bedrooms. the toilet is not in our bedrooms.

The BB staff was very welcoming; they booked for us the tickets for the Van Gogh museum; the house is really charming and cosy.
The garage for our car was rather expensive (45 € per day)

beautiful old building
I did not appreciate that I would have to share a bathroom with so many people and that service tax would be added. Owners were unhelpful about leaving a bag until my flight on the Sunday. I didn't like the prescrtiptive emails sent by the B&B in advance.

The premises are offering the advantages and inconvenients of an old classical Amsterdam dutch houses. The ancient character of the houses is well-preserved, but not at the cost of comfort. Of course, because of this, the stairs are very steep, and the sound insolation is scarce. You have to pick zhqt you love and what you don'T.

My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend stay at De Baronie. The room was a nice size, comfortable, and clean. The location was right in the center of things and easy to get to from Centraal Station. Tommy, the owner was very nice and hospitable, making our stay even more pleasant! If back in Amsterdam, I will gladly return to De Baronie!

The location of this hotel is perfect. Especially the big room with view on the canal!
There is too many noise from the street (even with the windows closed) and you hear the other guests in their rooms also. It's an expensive hotel and we didn't had breakfast included!
